Buddha.

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find anything that agrees with reason and in conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."
-Siddhartha Gautama (The Buddha), 562-483 B.C.

This was written over 2500 years ago!! Everyone should live their life by this, in every situation. Amazing words create amazing people.........

Trade Aid.

If you haven't heard about Trade Aid you're missing out big time! But thats why I'm here, to fill you in on the best of the best ;)

Fair trade is a trading partnership, based on dialogue, transparency and respect, that seeks greater equity in international trade. It contributes to sustainable development by offering better trading conditions to, and securing the rights of, marginalised producers and workers – especially in the South.

They stand for everything I believe in and also have the most wonderous wee things... the chocolate (this makes Cadbury taste BLAND! Its the best chocolate your teeth will ever sink into), different flavoured coffee beans, bamboo light shades, uniquely painted incence burners, books, diaries,... and the list goes on. ALL hand made with love. I don't know about you but I would rather buy something that slaves didn't make... Makes the heart fuzzy ~:)

A fair price in the regional or local context is one that has been agreed through dialogue and participation. It covers not only the costs of production but enables production which is socially just and environmentally sound. It provides fair pay to the producers and takes into account the principle of equal pay for equal work by women and men. Fair Traders ensure prompt payment to their partners and, whenever possible, help producers with access to pre-harvest or pre-production financing.

Do the world a favour n' support Trade Aid! Give love n' help fund the hard working volunteers!

Kisses to Trade Aid for making a positive change to the World xxx

Doing our Best.

Words from Daily Om --I adore..

Personal Satisfaction — Doing Our Best
We often come into contact with the idea that our best isn’t good enough, as if this were actually possible. If you examine this notion, you will begin to see that it doesn’t make much sense. Your best is always good enough, because it comes from you, and you are always good enough. You may not be able to deliver someone else’s idea of the best, but the good news is that’s not your burden. You only need to fulfill your own potential, and as long as you remain true to that calling, and always do your best to fulfill your purpose, you don’t need to expect anything more from yourself.
It’s easy to get tangled up with the idea of trying to be the best—the best parent, the best employee, the best child, or best friend. If we try to be the best, we run the risk of short-circuiting our originality because we are striving to fit into someone else’s vision of success. In addition, if everyone is striving for the same outcome, we lose out on creativity, diversity, and visionary alternatives to the way things are done. On another note, there is nothing wrong with wanting to improve, but examining where this feeling comes from is important because wanting to be better than others is our ego coming into play.
Letting go of the tendency to hold ourselves up to other people’s standards, and letting go of the belief that we need to compete and win, doesn’t mean we don’t believe in doing the best job we can. We always strive to do our best, because when we do we create a life free of regret, knowing we have performed to the best of our ability. This allows us to feel great personal satisfaction in all of our efforts, regardless of how others perceive the outcome.

Honeybee Crisis.

Have you heard about the honeybee crisis? How the bees are disappearing from their hives at alarming rates? You can learn all about the situation here at Help the Honeybees.

http://www.helpthehoneybees.com/

If you are thinking this is no big thing, that who cares about a bunch of stupid bees, anyway, you are wrong. Bees are vital. Think about this:

+ One out of every three bites an average American takes is directly attributed to honeybee pollination!
+ Albert Einstein predicted that the human race could survive only four years without bees!
+ Over a third of U.S. hives have been abandoned by the bees!
and
+ Hello! Honey comes from bees. Sticky, delicious honey.
There is a very important point to all this and that is the sweet way that you can help. Next time you are at the market, pick up a pint of Vanilla (!!) Honey Bee ice cream. A portion of the proceeds is going to help the honeybees. In fact, a large portion of the money is coming to the UC Davis Honey Bee Research Facility.
{You can also help save the bees with Burt’s Bees Lip Balm, Help Bees Get Busy t-shirts, or by joining The Great Sunflower Project.}

If the only prayer you say in your life is ‘Thank You,’ that would suffice. - Meister Eckhart.

"""Gratitude means thankfulness, counting your blessings, noticing simple pleasures, and acknowledging everything that you receive. It means learning to live your life as if everything were a miracle, and being aware on a continuous basis of how much you’ve been given. Gratitude shifts your focus from what your life lacks to the abundance that is already present. In addition, behavioral and psychological research has shown the surprising life improvements that can stem from the practice of gratitude. Giving thanks makes people happier and more resilient, it strengthens relationships, it improves health, and it reduces stress.
Two psychologists, Michael McCollough of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and Robert Emmons of the University of California at Davis, wrote an article about an experiment they conducted on gratitude and its impact on well-being. The study split several hundred people into three different groups and all of the participants were asked to keep daily diaries. The first group kept a diary of the events that occurred during the day without being told specifically to write about either good or bad things; the second group was told to record their unpleasant experiences; and the last group was instructed to make a daily list of things for which they were grateful. The results of the study indicated that daily gratitude exercises resulted in higher reported levels of alertness, enthusiasm, determination, optimism, and energy. In addition, those in the gratitude group experienced less depression and stress, were more likely to help others, exercised more regularly, and made greater progress toward achieving personal goals.
Dr. Emmons - who has been studying gratitude for almost ten years and is considered by many to be the world’s leading authority on gratitude - is author of the book, “Thanks!: How the New Science of Gratitude Can Make You Happier”. The information in this book is based on research involving thousands of people conducted by a number of different researchers around the world. One of the things these studies show is that practicing gratitude can increase happiness levels by around 25%. This is significant, among other things, because just as there’s a certain weight that feels natural to your body and which your body strives to maintain, your basic level of happiness is set at a predetermined point. If something bad happens to you during the day, your happiness can drop momentarily, but then it returns to its natural set-point. Likewise, if something positive happens to you, your level of happiness rises, and then it returns once again to your “happiness set-point”. A practice of gratitude raises your “happiness set-point” so you can remain at a higher level of happiness regardless of outside circumstances.
In addition, Dr. Emmons’ research shows that those who practice gratitude tend to be more creative, bounce back more quickly from adversity, have a stronger immune system, and have stronger social relationships than those who don’t practice gratitude. He further points out that “To say we feel grateful is not to say that everything in our lives is necessarily great. It just means we are aware of our blessings.”
Notice and Appreciate Each Day’s Gifts
People tend to take for granted the good that is already present in their lives. There’s a gratitude exercise that instructs that you should imagine losing some of the things that you take for granted, such as your home, your ability to see or hear, your ability to walk, or anything that currently gives you comfort. Then imagine getting each of these things back, one by one, and consider how grateful you would be for each and every one. In addition, you need to start finding joy in the small things instead of holding out for big achievements—such as getting the promotion, having a comfortable nest egg saved up, getting married, having the baby, and so on–before allowing yourself to feel gratitude and joy.
Another way to use giving thanks to appreciate life more fully is to use gratitude to help you put things in their proper perspective. When things don’t go your way, remember that every difficulty carries within it the seeds of an equal or greater benefit. In the face of adversity ask yourself: “What’s good about this?”, “What can I learn from this?”, and “How can I benefit from this?”
A common method to develop the practice of gratitude is to keep a gratitude journal, a concept that was made famous by Sarah Ban Breathnach’s book “Simple Abundance Journal of Gratitude”. This exercise basically consists of writing down every day a list of three to ten things for which you are grateful; you can do this first thing in the morning or before going to bed at night. Another exercise you can try is to write a gratitude letter to a person who has exerted a positive influence in your life but whom you have not properly thanked. Some experts suggest that you set up a meeting with this person and read the letter to them face to face.
Last year millions of people took the challenge proposed by Will Bowen, a Kansas City minister, to go 21 days without complaining, criticizing, or gossiping. To help condition the participants to stop complaining, they each wore a purple No-Complaint wristband. Several authors in the self-improvement genre have suggested that people do something similar to help condition themselves to be constantly aware of the things in life that they’re grateful for.
A variation of the wristband concept is to create a gratitude charm bracelet, with either one meaningful charm or different charms representing the things you’re most grateful for. For example, you could have a charm shaped like a heart to symbolize your significant other, figurines to represent different family members, an appleto represent health, a dollar sign to symbolize abundance, a charm that represents your current profession or a future career, and maybe a charm that makes you laugh to represent humor and joy.
Conclusion
Once you become oriented toward looking for things to be grateful for, you will find that you begin to appreciate simple pleasures and things that you previously took for granted. Gratitude should not be just a reaction to getting what you want, but an all-the-time gratitude, the kind where you notice the little things and where you constantly look for the good even in unpleasant situations. Today, start bringing gratitude to your experiences, instead of waiting for a positive experience in order to feel grateful; in this way, you’ll be on your way toward becoming a master of gratitude."""

Oprah.

Oprah you are so wise!! Here is some of her knowledge which I adore and completely agree with.

WHAT OPRAH WINFREY HAS TO SAY ABOUT MEN:
If a man wants you, nothing can keep him away.
If he doesn’t want you, nothing can make him stay.
Stop making excuses for a man and his behaviour.
Allow your intuition (or spirit) to save you from heartache. Stop trying to change yourself for a relationship that’s not meant to be.
Slower is better…
Never live your life for a man before you find what makes you truly happy…
If a relationship ends because the man was not treating you as you deserve then heck no, you can’t ‘be friends’.
A friend wouldn’t mistreat a friend.
Don’t settle.
If you feel like he is stringing you along, then he probably is.
Don’t stay because you think ‘it will get better’. You’ll be mad at yourself a year later for staying when things are not better.
The only person you can control in a relationship is you.
Avoid men who’ve got a bunch of children by a bunch of different women.
He didn’t marry them when he got them pregnant, why would he treat you any differently?
Always have your own set of friends separate from his.
Maintain boundaries in how a guy treats you.
If something bothers you, speak up.
Never let a man know everything.* He will use it against you later.
You cannot change a man’s behaviour.* Change comes from within.
Don’t EVER make him feel he is more important than you are… Even if he has more education or in a better job.
Do not make him into a quasi-god.
He is a man, nothing more nothing less.
Never let a man define who you are.
Never borrow someone else’s man.
If he cheated with you, he’ll cheat on you.
A man will only treat you the way you ALLOW him to treat you.
All men are NOT dogs.
You should not be the one doing all the bending… Compromise is two way street.
You need time to heal between relationships…
There is nothing cute about baggage…
Deal with your issues before pursuing a new relationship.
You should never look for someone to COMPLETE you…
A relationship consists of two WHOLE individuals.
Look for someone complimentary...not supplementary.
Dating is fun...even if he doesn’t turn out to be Mr. Right.
Make him miss you sometimes...when a man always knows where you are, and you’re always readily available to him - he takes it for granted.
Never move into his mother’s house.
Never co-sign for a man.
Don’t fully commit to a man who doesn’t give you everything that you need. Keep him in your radar but get to know others.
Scared of being alone is what makes a lot of women stay in relationships that are abusive or hurtful: Dr. Phil You should know that! You’re the best thing that could ever happen to anyone and if a man mistreats you, he’ll miss out on a good thing. If he was attracted to you in the 1st place, just know that he’s not the only one. They’re all watching you, so you have a lot of choices. Make the right one.
Ladies take care of your own hearts....
Share this with other women and men (just so they know)
You’ll make someone smile, another rethink her choices, and another woman prepare.
They say
it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them and an entire lifetime to forget them.

The World.

The World. Does it ever cross anyones mind about how much we have “evolved” into the society we are today? Humans, living, etc. Humans are so worried about things that don’t matter more than ever… EVER, today. Will it go beyond this? Can it? Have you thought about how much more beyond it can get? It is unbelievable when you really think about it. How things were, in say, pre-1950, and how they have slowly changed into this World, that it is today. I mean obviously things are going to change but really, this much?
Well maybe the World isnt that bad, but certain people make it difficult to see otherwise. What does it matter…:: who you know, where you’ve been, what you own, what brand you wear and what you do to make money. I mean, sure, these things are nice and great if doing them makes you happy, but these things do not define who you are as a person at all, they define just what they are.
Humans use and walk all over anyone to get want they want, I am seeing this way too much lately, and they do this without taking a single blink to think about morals or consequences. Money over morals? Money over friends? Money over family? For real!? At the end of the day, nothing else matters but who you are and how happy you are. MONEY and material things are not a permanent happiness. I pray for the day people see this. People always want more, no matter how much they have. I mean yes Money is nice, but take a look at what Money really is. Greed is becoming so common people don’t even notice it.
Take a moment and think about who you are and how you are. It is amazing you are even in this World, walking and breathing and living.
Stop blaming others for how you feel and take responsibility for yourself.
Anyway, on a more positive note! I do actually love people, but a few too many are as mentioned above. Perception is everything.
Most people have morals and values, but they may prioritize them differently than me. They may, in fact, consider that my priorities are somehow immoral. No one can win because no two people think the same.
Every single person is just the result of their own experiences. It is no ones doing but their own. Of course people in their life effect them but that too, is their own doing. Just like I am just the result of the experiences, that have made me into the person I am right now, who loves to spread happiness and positivity. If you want to attract people, you need to understand them and appreciate them for the fact that they may be able to offer some great knowledge, even if you don’t agree with it, you may look back on it. Think what the people of the world would be if they all acted the same. Would that even be a world worth saving? I’d rather be myself, whether saving the world or not, at least make it a little better by simply being human.
Don’t give up on yourself.(; Kitten kisses!! M.x

Choice.

Words can never say enough about any person or any situation, and nothing is ever enough. People will always believe what they want, no matter what the truth is. Hating is so convenient. Choice is the most powerful thing anyone can ever do. And it definitely says alot what you choose. Take the Joker for example... he wouldnt be the Joker if he was loved ;) [RIP Heath....xxxx ] Peace...stay true and happy! M.x

I agree.

We come to love not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly.- Sam Keen

We can have in life but one great experience at best, and the secret of life is to reproduce that experience as often as possible.- Oscar Wilde

The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president. You realize that you control your own destiny.- Albert Ellis

Sanity and happiness are an impossible combination.- Mark Twain

The true harvest of my life is intangible - a little star dust caught, a portion of the rainbow I have clutched.- Henry David Thoreau

When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace- Jimi Hendrix

“Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth.”

“So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future.”

“You are wrong if you think Joy emanetes only or principally from human relationships. God has placed it all around us. It is in everything and anything we might experience.”

“Happiness only real when shared.”

-Alex Supertramp

Some people, I’ve found, are almost bursting at the seams with the desire to let you get to know them better. Ask one innocent question, and within ten minutes, you’ll learn that their beloved pet Chihuahua suffers from halitosis, that their grandfather once wrestled an alligator, and that they secretly dream of being a Las Vegas showgirls. As entertaining as these people may be, experience has taught me that those who say the most are those who know the least. Quiet people keep their secrets to themselves. That’s what makes them interesting—and generally worth the wait.

HR.

I stumbled upon this amazing entry on Lukeyfruit's myspace page. It makes me think about the Universe and aliens? hmm. Those thoughts can be scary but control is the trick ;) Hope you love it as much as I do....

"It Is Better To Be Alone, Than In The Wrong Company.Tell me who your best friends are, and I will tell you who you are.If you run with wolves, you will learn how to howl. But, if you associate with eagles, you will learn how to soar to great heights.A mirror reflects a mans face, but what he is really like is shown by the kind of friends he chooses. The simple but true fact of life is that you become like those with whom you closely associate for the good and the bad.The less you associate with some people, the more your life will improve.
Any time you tolerate mediocrity in others, it increases your mediocrity. An important attribute in successful people is their impatience withnegative thinking and negative acting people.
As you grow, your associates will change. Some of your friends will not want you to go on.They will want you to stay where they are.Friends that don’t help you climb will want you to crawl.Your friends will stretch your vision or choke your dream. Those that don’t increase you will eventually decrease you.
Consider This:Never receive counsel from unproductive people.Never discuss your problems with someone incapable of contributing to the solution, because those who never succeed themselves are always first to tell you how.Not everyone has a right to speak into your life. You are certain to get the worst of the bargain when you exchange ideas with the wrong person.Don’t follow anyone who’s not going anywhere. With some people you spend an evening: with others you invest it.Be careful where you stop to inquire for directions along the road of life.Wise is the person who fortifies his life with the right friendships."

Wow right!!! Love to your mind.. M.x

All that we see or seem is but a Dream within a Dream - Edgar Allan Poe.

I live for my true friends more than I do for myself.I believe in a few things… respect, honesty, loyalty and responsibility. And there is nothing worse than people who only think about themselves.I will always hold my true friends close to me because frankly nowadays, they are super hard to find.
I’m an optimist and I don’t believe in odds at all…If I want to achieve something I will go out and do it.
Laughing and making people smile are the best things in the world.
I like to go out and have fun…
Some people need to lighten up and just go with it.
Super-love!

Feedyourmind.

Be real & honest no matter what, be yourself most importantly. Never change yourself for anyone except for yourself, and never try to be someone else. Stick to one personality. Be real. Individuality is everything.
Don’t live in the past, the present and future are what life is about so never dwell because things can only get better, and no matter how horrible you feel, there is always someone else a lot worse off than you.
Focus on what you want and who you want to be. Be passionate about life and everything in life. No matter what! Do whatever you love doing. Follow your dreams. You own yourself and can be whatever your heart and soul desires no matter what anyone says. Every single person has their own beauty and talent. The greatest thing in life is being happy.
Expect nothing from anyone and a lot from yourself. Expectations ruin relationships. Choose your friends wisely. Learn not to trust so easily and not to fall so hard. Because in the end it will be better than it was. Be happy & kind & positive whenever possible. “Treat others the way you would like to be treated” …People need to do that so much more. Live every day to the absolute Fullest. You only live once so have as much fun and craziness as humanly possible!

Kitten kisses and joy! See attached the beautiful tree on my driveway. It reminds me of childhood and changing in good ways ;)
