By Francesca Lia Block which I totally believe in.

if you believe in your own unconventional beauty
when you are young
you will accomplish twice as much and suffer half so
turn off lightbulbs and light a candle
walk don’t drive
plant a tree
wear sunscreen
dancing is an antidepressant
kindness is the new status symbol
every day please try to eat something green
and something orange
that grow out of the ground
tell me how mad you are
that your father and i parted
i will always listen
though i can’t ever take away the pain
expectations are for what you yourself create
they rarely work when applied to others
turn off the television
tv is a depressant
yoga is an antidepressant
don’t feel guilty about wanting pretty things
they would not be so alluring
if you weren’t supposed to want them
just don’t value them over compassion
use your words even when you are a grown-up
and people no longer think it is entirely acceptable
when you say, that hurt my feelings
if you can digest chocolate eat it sometimes
same goes for ice cream
(i don’t really need to tell you those things do i?)
do your homework because it is part of the game but
don’t spend too much time worrying about grades
fall in love with someone kind who loves your body
and your mind
if you have a dream that won’t let you go, that
tickles your solar plexus, heed it
turn dark feelings into paintings or poetry
or dancing
music is a kind of food
if you are sad talk to a happy woman who loves you
it will always help
move your body when you are sad or angry
avoid the following:
genetically modified ingredients
parabens
sodium lauryl sulfate
mercury in certain fish
neurotic thoughts about food
(is that a contradiction?)
love your curls though they tangle
your pale skin though it can burn in the sun
your nose though it is broader than some
your sturdy legs and feet
forget barbie she does not possess imagination
remember you are a botticelli angel
the planet we live on is perfection
love her like a goddess
love yourself as her daughter
there is a planet full of different kinds of beauty
the idea that only one type of woman is beautiful
is blasphemy
of everything i brought to the world in these
forty-five years
you and your brother are by far the most astounding
because of this i will always love your father
matter never vanishes, only changes
remember that when someone you love dies
your round head on my breast when you were born
is the memory
i will keep with me when i leave this body
when i am gone i will still be near you
this is how i know: when you were born
it was not a meeting
but a reunion
Kitten love, mk x

Slow DOWN!
"Slow Food is a non-profit, eco-gastronomic member-supported organization that was founded in 1989 to counteract fast food and fast life, the disappearance of local food traditions and people’s dwindling interest in the food they eat, where it comes from, how it tastes and how our food choices affect the rest of the world.
Appreciate the now, and what is right in front of you.
Stop living in the past and the future.
The very first part of the slow movement began in 1986, simply as a reaction to fast food. When a McDonalds restaurant was opening in the Piazza de Spagna, Rome, Italian food enthusiast Carlo Petrini became infuriated by the spread of American fast food. EW right. Petrini was the man who founded the Slow Food Organisation. GENIUS. The Slow Food Organisation isn't just about food however. Slow down your LIFE. Stop being a Workaholic, take some play time and appreciate it slowly, take up new cute hobbies, READ, catch up with friends and LISTEN because you want to, time is of the essence but noone wants a friend who talks talks talks and doesnt listen. Life is NOT a race. Slow doen your transport, your exercise...travel by bicycle rather than car, walk rather than run, take up yoga, tai chi, pilates... The idea is not to do everything at the speed of a snail, being slow often means living at the right speed, giving each task the time and attention it deserves, being more creative and productive, having deeper connections, defending the environment instead of destroying it... Living life rather than rushing through it. There is no reason why you can't start right now ;)
Meat free & positivity ;)

yes and YES x

When we move deeply into an inquiry about who we are and what it means to be alive, then the ways to manifest a world that reflects that depth will automatically come to us.
Thinking shallowly, we manifest shallowly.
Ultimately, nature does not support a shallow existence, because that is a repudiation of our own magnificence.
“Become the light.”

More scribbles, these... about happiness ;)
One question I get asked alot is "why are you always so happy/excited?" and I never really know how to answer, or people just assume I am "stupid" or "fake" because I am always happy... Its quite funny how some people justify happiness because they don't understand it.
So my answer to "why are you always happy?" is usually "I just love life!" or "why not?!" but of course there is more to it than that, so I will try to explain....
--being KARMA-rific ;)
--being open to always learn/discover, and doing what your whole desires
--living SIMPLY
--not always having expectations
--travel travel travel....
--writing
--doing the "RIGHT" thing
I believe whole heartedly in KARMA and what goes around comes around, but this shouldn't be the sole reason you help people. I believe in helping people in every way -- listening/understanding, volunteer work, charity work, etc.... Helping people comes from within, not because you expect something in return -- (That is a thought from the ego... Greed and expectation..more to come).
Being kinder than necessary out of "wanting to", not "needing to" and staying positive -- looking on the bright side of everything. Positive attracts positive, and yes it really really does. ;)
To learn and keep learning, to know what your "now goals" and your "life goals" are -- knowing you made these to fulfill your soul, by not doing what people expect you to do or to impress anyone, but by doing what you are drawn to and what makes your heart sing and your brain smile. ;)
By simplifying your mind: meditating, practicing yoga, chanting, praying, healthy eating... All of these are an incred way to simplify your mind, body and soul. Introduce yourself to yoga through my inspiring friend/Divya Yoga Teacher -- Rose's class at MacAndrew Hall, Titirangi... 6pm every Wednesday, $10. Come by yourself or with a friend, everyone in the class is super friendly, all ages, and all different levels of experience, so don't be shy, kittens. Take the first step. ;)
Not to have expectations -- they distort your thoughts and are a reaction from the ego. If you have none you will appreciate more and learn to trust things as they come. This way of thinking makes room for more surprises too! YAY ;)
Travel opens your mind, soul, heart and eyes to so much more than words can explain. Worlds, cultures, religions, beauty, energy... You will change if you are open to it all.
Writing on paper gets so much more out than talking can. People don't think before they talk, or they have so much to express, they don't know how to say it in words. Writing puts a little more thought into what you are really thinking. Writing for me makes me feel a huge release also. I would go caa-razy if I couldn't write!
Do the right thing that your heart tells you.. ie. be honest with yourself and others, don't steal, don't take the "easy" way out, keep promises, don't spend all your time gossiping, or put others down to make yourself feel better -- the RIGHT thing. It isn't hard, unless you keep the negative people around you. Don't keep neg's around (they will only influence you).. only keep positive people who empower you and bring our the best of YOU.

“Follow your bliss & the universe will open doors where there were only walls.”

Bunnies! Time for my South East Asia scribbles to come to life on screen. I have compacted things a bit so it is easier to read and understand. These thoughts are about awareness. Enjoy my thinking <3
Things can rise as quickly as they fall, things can come as quickly as they go, and vice versa. If you know this you will learn to detach yourself easier and be able to control your attachment to anything. Appreciate everything now, not later -- always always be grateful knowing things can get better (and can also get worse) so smile and take each divine moment as it comes, because each moment is part of you and the World. Know each moment is perfect and unfolding exactly as it should. Be aware of your thoughts constantly -- each emotion is just that -- an emotion -- don't let emotions define who you are, ever -- emotions are merely reactions which you have learnt are true for yourself to "feel" from certain events, they aren't exactly what you should or want to feel, but being aware of your thoughts will definitely help you be able to control emotions to be exactly the person you want to be -- on the broadest spectrum..
The World is having a constant war with reactions and misunderstanding eachother. This has a lot to do with religion and culture: Beliefs. This won't change because every single human is different, has different beliefs and morals, and a different view of every single thing. No two humans are the same, hence argument after argument of not understanding eachother, country's not understanding eachother...etc. The only way to make your life and others around you have a happier more blissful and peaceful life is to simply be aware of your thoughts as they come, so you have self control over your reactions. This sounds easy right? So try it. Live in the moment instead of letting everything pass you by and letting your emotions take control over YOU. Like meditation, having an empty mind takes time and comittment, just like an aware mind. Do it ;) and I promise things will change.
